Our Work
Thank you for taking an interest in Mixed at Mizzou! Take a look at some of our previous events and projects to learn more about what we do.
Advocacy Events
Our advocacy team works to bring awareness to issues affecting the mixed community. Previous topics have included what it means to be mixed and cultural appropriation from a mixed perspective. We foster a safe, diverse, and inclusive environment for members to share their personal experiences and unique perspectives on culture.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Our programming team works to oversee and execute a variety of events to promote multicultural inclusion and team-building between our members. In our first year as an official organization, we hosted a multicultural bonfire, movie nights, a holiday party, a multicultural picnic, and more!
Community Events
The MAM community relations team builds and maintains strong relationships with members of our community, local organizations, and institutions. By fostering open communication and collaboration, we work together to promote our culture, traditions, and values while building a stronger and more cohesive community. We aim to serve as a liaison between our group and the broader Columbia area. One of our most successful events was a community garden workday with the University Village Community Garden!
